Cyanotypes

About 25 years ago, I saw the brilliant blue of a photo printed as a cyanotype and I was hooked for life. While some of my images—and some of my father’s who was born in 1890 and took his first photos as an American soldier in Germany in WWI—are made from negatives developed from our photographs, others are manipulated and/or merged images using Photoshop. Because they’re printed from negatives, I print them at 8” by 10”, 13” by 17” or 17” by 22”. Most are printed on silk organza.
