September 2018. Two Person Exhibition at Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts, Fridley, MN.
Mixed media work by Doroth Mayer will be paired with ceramic work by Lisa Truax, Assistant Professor, Art and Design Department, Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota Winona. The exhibition—title still to be announced—will be at Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts (BLCA) from September 1 to to 30 with a formal opening and artist talk on Saturday, September 15.
BLCA supports and encourages the work of developing and established artists and provides resources and opportunities in the arts for individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels. The Center recognizes art to be a powerful tool for the cultivation of strong, healthy, harmonious community life. The structure, built in 1847, has a diverse and colorful history having served as tavern, dairy farm, and post office for early travelers. Located at the convergence of Rice and Mississippi rivers at the foot of the Red River Trail, Banfill-Locke is the ideal location for an exhibition focusing on the environment.
